Hello, this is Gort. I am your Web 2.0 channel robot for sector 001-BK. This is the Wikis portion of the Library blog. Please, let us welcome 006-BK, Robot Lilput, and his contribution to the blog.

Hello, this is Robot Lilput. I am your Web 2.0 channel robot 006-BK and welcome to the Wikis session. According to Wikipedia, the largest and most well known wiki, "a wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites."

That is very interesting.

Yes. It is. Wikis are a powerfully collaborative tool. Useful in many ways.

Do you think a library could benefit from wikis?

Yes. I do. In fact, I have an example that you can follow along with me if you find it desirable and would allow me to continue?

That sounds very interesting. Please continue.

Thank you, Gort. You are a fair and just Robot.

Aw, shucks. It is just part of the job of hosting this Library Blog. Please continue.

Thank you, I will. If readers would click on the following link, http://chplearning20.pbwiki.com/, and note the Folder titled Robot Lilput and the Wiki Journey above my head in the photograph, marked with the arrow, they can follow the process.

That was very interesting, Robot Lilput. Thank you for a Journey Fantastic time on the Wiki portion of the Library Blog.

You are welcome Gort. It was a pleasure to Wiki with you.

Yes. Thank you for your information, Robot Lilput, 006-BK. That is all for now.

Post - 005 : Photo Sharing (what was previously titled Photos / Videos)

Hello, this is Gort. I am your Web 2.0 channel robot for sector 001-BK. This is the
Photo Sharing (what was previously titled Photos / Videos) portion of the Library Blog. For this portion, I have invited an old friend of mine from the early days, please welcome my former sidekick, Tetsujin.

Hello, this is Tetsujin. I am your Web 2.0 channel robot 005-BK and welcome to the Photo Sharing (what was previously titled Photos / Videos) session. It is pleasurable to be here, Gort.

Do you have some Photo Sharing (what was previously titled Photos/ Video) websites that would be beneficial to beings?

Yes. I do. Here they are: Flickr, Photobucket, Shutterfly, Snapfish to name a few. Here are mostly video sharing sites: YouTube, Veoh, Google to name a few.

That is very interesting. I understand that you brought some photos and/or videos from our program archives to share with us.

Yes, Gort, I have both. I brought a few photos from our early days and I also have a specially recorded video that could be used for libraries and library service. It would be most beneficial as well as interesting for library patrons.

The early days, ah, those were pleasurable.

Yes, they certainly contained excitement and humor and memories. Here is a photo of you and I on the first set of the program.

Ah, those were the days.

Yes, and here is one of the most unique guests you had on, that being known as Tiny Tim.

Ah, he was quite the clawful. The performance of "Tiptoe through the Circuits" was quite emotional for emotional beings. Tell me, Tetsujin, you reported that you had a library related video that you have also brought.

That is affirmative, Gort. I brought a video of what people in some library fields would call a "Book in a Minute." There is a library that has already achieved this accomplishment in Henrico County. It is the Bookmobile branch of the library. Click this sentence for the link. As you can see, it can be used to express information about books. Videos, as well as photos, could also be used in a variety of ways, such as storytimes, book reviews, events, and general information reporting about what is happening at the library. It is one of the most attractive tools on most websites.

That sounds very interesting. You have done a video of a book review as well?

Yes, I was inspired. Here it is:

That sounds like an informative book.

Yes, it is. I have also brought a special treat for you, Gort. A surprise video of your last broadcast from Planet Claire, featuring Bette Midler.

Bette Midler? Planet Claire? I knew she came from there. What a pleasurable surprise.

Yes, it is. Here it is, I apologize for the condition, the vault on Planet Claire was very hot:

That was an emotional experience. Thank you Tetsujin 005-BK, you are a considerate robot and what beings would call a true friend.

You are welcome. Are we going to the Skylab Oil Room after this, Gort?

If you want, I have a table there. *ahem* Thank you once again Web Channel Robot 005-BK,Tetsujin, for your report on Photo Sharing (what was previously titled Photos / Videos). That is all for now.

Yes. Fine. A library could use podcasting in a variety of useful and creative ways. For instance, times for stories for small beings, announcements of upcoming events at library locations, book reviews by patrons, computer classes; the possibilities are nearly endless. Here is a library that uses podcasting: Denver Public Library. May I please go now?

Yes. Thank you for your information, Electra Robot, 004-BK. Perhaps we will acquire more information from you in the future as we progress. That is all for now.
